Meta Prosper - Generation Gold

Objective

The objective of the AAPI Beauty Summit - Generation Gold was to spotlight the achievements of AAPI entrepreneurs in the beauty industry and create a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering community, and inspiring the next generation of leaders. Organized by Meta Prosper, the summit aimed to empower AAPI-owned businesses by connecting them with influential industry figures, providing actionable insights, and celebrating their cultural contributions. By highlighting the unique stories and expertise of guest speakers, the event sought to amplify representation, encourage collaboration, and drive positive change within the AAPI business community.

Building The Event

The design was inspired by a desire to reflect the richness of AAPI culture while maintaining a modern, aspirational aesthetic. To achieve this, I developed a series of intricate patterns and illustrations influenced by traditional Asian art forms, reimagined with contemporary elements to appeal to a wide audience. The color palette was carefully selected to evoke a sense of elegance and vibrancy, incorporating shades of gold to symbolize prosperity and success, complemented by deep, earthy tones and soft pastels to create balance and warmth.

These design elements were seamlessly integrated across the board, from presentation decks to event swag and signage, creating a cohesive visual identity that embodied the summit’s celebratory and empowering theme. This thoughtful approach ensured the branding resonated with both the AAPI business community and the broader audience attending the event.


As Art Director for Meta Prosper’s AAPI Beauty Summit - Generation Gold, I developed a distinctive brand identity for the event, celebrating the achievements and inspiring journeys of AAPI entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. My responsibilities included designing cohesive presentation decks, event swag, and signage for both physical and digital platforms. This branding set the tone for an impactful summit that featured influential guest speakers from the Asian business community, fostering meaningful discussions and empowering attendees. The project highlighted my ability to blend cultural storytelling with strategic design, creating an engaging experience that resonated deeply with the audience.


Preparing To Go Live

Bringing the summit to life required meticulous planning and execution across multiple facets of the event. I collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure every detail was aligned with the overarching brand vision. This included designing and producing presentation decks for guest speakers, creating custom event swag such as tote bags and notebooks, and developing both physical and digital signage to guide and engage attendees.

Beyond the visual elements, I worked closely with event planners to synchronize branding with venue layouts and digital platforms, ensuring a seamless attendee experience. From managing print production timelines to overseeing digital asset deployment, every piece had to be perfectly timed and quality-checked to meet Meta’s high standards. The result was an immersive and well-orchestrated event that resonated with attendees and left a lasting impact on the AAPI business community.


Scheduling

Coordinating all the assets for an all-day event like the AAPI Beauty Summit - Generation Gold presented unique challenges. With a packed schedule of panels, keynotes, and networking sessions, every design element needed to be adaptable and cohesive across a variety of formats. The tight timeline required prioritizing deliverables, such as creating multiple presentation decks tailored for each speaker, while ensuring consistency with the event’s branding.

Managing the production of physical assets like signage and swag added another layer of complexity, as these items had to be sourced, approved, and delivered on schedule. Additionally, ensuring digital assets—such as event visuals for screens, social media, and live-stream platforms—were optimized for various formats required close collaboration with AV teams and digital specialists. Despite the fast-paced environment, careful planning and communication with cross-functional teams ensured the assets were delivered on time and contributed to a polished, immersive event experience.


Event Items

To enhance the attendee experience and leave a lasting impression, I designed custom swag bags filled with beauty products generously provided by event vendors. These thoughtfully curated bags not only showcased the quality and diversity of AAPI-owned brands but also served as a tangible reminder of the event’s mission to celebrate and support the community. Each bag featured the summit’s custom branding, tying it seamlessly into the overall event theme. To further personalize the experience, I created a beautifully designed thank-you card included in each bag, expressing gratitude to attendees and vendors for their participation. This attention to detail added a meaningful touch, fostering goodwill and reinforcing the summit’s message of collaboration and appreciation within the AAPI business community.
